València old town

Valencia, over 2000 years old, has been the home to Romans, Visigoths and Muslims since it was founded in 130 B.C. and has one of the largest historic centres in Europe.

Valencia has a rich artistic heritage, full of art and masterpieces from previous civilisations. If you have strolled around the streets, you will have already seen it all. You will fall in love if you have not already. Wander around the streets, but keep your eyes wide open, because there is something special to see in every corner.

Take a walk around the historic centre, enjoy a lovely cup of hot chocolate with "bunyols" or a "orxata" with "fartons" to gather more energy to carry on. Discover the Holy Chalice in the cathedral, feel the thrill in the Basilica of our Lady of the Forsaken, and enjoy the Central Market and all the stalls full of top-quality fresh food. Have a rest and eat a few tapas in the sun on one of the many bar terraces, then continue your walk along to the Llotja de la Seda, a Valencian Gothic-style civil building. And, if you still have enough energy to keep going, why not visit the Valencian Sistine Chapel: Church of Saint Nicholas.
