Alessandro Balducci

Alessandro Balducci is an Italian Architect and Urban Planner. He is full professor at the Politecnico di Milano of Planning and Urban Policies and member of the PhD Program in Urban Planning, Design and Policy. In the period 2015-2016, Balducci was Deputy Mayor for Urban Planning and Agriculture of the City of Milan. Among many other relevant positions, he was Vice-Rector of the Politecnico di Milano from 2010 to 2015 and Chair of the Italian Society of Urbanists from 2010 to 2014. As a scholar in urban studies and planning, Balducci has been responsible for many projects, being the Strategic Plan of the Province of Milano developed between 2004 and 2008 one of the most remarkable. He has also been an advisor for other plans and urban projects in Italy and in other countries such as Shanghai and Dubai.
Having also taught for many years at the Faculty of Architecture of Pescara, Alessandro Balducci has been visiting professor in U.C. Berkeley, Reims, Tongji, Aalto University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio.
